All Ages Free Concert at Federation Square
Join Melbourne’s birthday party this Saturday 30th August for a free concert with
The P!nk Tribute Show and hit musician Rav Thomas are the headline acts at the official Melbourne Day all-ages free concert at Federation Square.
Get some free Ferguson Plarre baked birthday cake & cupcakes (while it lasts!) and celebrate Melbourne’s birthday on 30 August from noon to 3pm.
The party features singer and dancer Bethany Fisher; performers The Henry Twins Isobel and Eloise, along with lots of music, home-grown entertainers and more.
Flag Raising Ceremony at Enterprize Park, Flinders St
Lord Mayor Robert Doyle invites you to the official kick-off event at Enterprize Park, Flinders St, on Melbourne Day.
Join Cr Doyle, fellow councillors, the 2014 Junior Lord Mayor competition winner, Melbourne Day chairman Campbell Walker, VIPs, dignitaries and others as we hoist the city’s flag at 11am.
This is a free public event, families welcome. Bring the whole flock!
Enterprize Park, on the north bank of the Yarra River at the bottom of William St, is where the first Europeans landed on 30 August 1835 to start the first permanent settlement.

11:30am – 1pm: Blessing of the Fleet and Regatta sail-past
1pm – 1:45pm: Re-enactment of the first settlers’ landing. Free event. The Dock Library Wharf area.
2pm – 3pm: Ship open to visitors for a gold-coin donation, North Wharf Road, Berth VH03 (near Shed 2).
3pm – 4pm: One-hour sail
4:30pm – 5:30pm: One-hour sail

The Windsor Art Award
From 30 August to 14 September, visit the Windsor Hotel and see art work from Victorian College of the Arts students as they vye for The Windsor Art Award, a $10,000 scholarship recognising Australia’s best emerging talent.
The work features in many of the hotel’s unique spaces, including the heritage listed lace iron lifts, Victorian windows, renowned tea room and even a once secret hotel entrance. It is a free exhibition at The Hotel Windsor, 111 Spring St, city
